Nexus 4 to go on sale in the UK at 3pm
Google's?Nexus 4 smartphone will go back on sale in the UK today at 3pm.
Yesterday we were alerted to the possibility of more Nexus 4 stock coming to the Google Play Store. Now it seems the Android handset will go back on sale later today (30 January) at precisely 3pm, according to Phone Arena.
Since yesterday the Nexus 4 status changed from 'Sold out' to 'Temporarily out of stock' hinting that more stock was on the way. We don't know if the information is reliable as Phone Arena only cites the Google Play Store as its source.
It coincides exactly with the launch of RIM's BlackBerry 10 operating system.
Our advice is to be ready at 3pm with your browser and the refresh button if you want to grab an 8GB for ?239 or 16GB model at ?279. As usual we don't know how much stock will be available so get the Nexus 4 while you can. All other times the smartphone has gone on sale it's gone back out of stock extremely quickly. Phone Arena also has shots of a white Nexus 4 which was supposed to have launched already. There's been no word from Google as to when this will launch.
Google apologised blamed LG, which makes the Nexus 4, for not producing enough units. However, LG denied this claim stating it had fulfilled the orders Google placed. LG said demand for the smartphone has been 10 times higher than expected in the UK and Germany taking Google by surprise.
LG said it would ramp up production of the Nexus 4 in February. So if the Nexus 4 goes back on sale today and quickly sells out, more should be on the way.
