TIER 1 (Miguel Cabrera)
-Cabrera stands alone as quite possibly the number 1 player in all of fantasy baseball.? His awesome combination of power and batting title average is without peer in the game.? A top two pick is required to land this gem who still has many prime years left in the tank.
Tier 2 (Evan Longoria, David Wright, Ryan Zimmerman, Adrian Beltre, Chase Headley, Aramis Ramirez)
-Very good depth at third base this season as each and every one of these guys is a top level hitter.? Longoria is now priced as he should be after being a mid first round pick the last two seasons.? His penchant for injuries is growing and keep in mind he has lost interest in stealing bases and expecting a .300 average is foolish since he strikes out a bunch.? Beltre is 35 but boy has he been incredible since going to Texas.? Wright is no longer the first round stud he used to be but fully capable of .300/25/15.? Headley is the guy who has decent bust potential for a number of reasons.? His fly ball was beyond out of whack last season as he hit 31 home runs.? Keep in mind Headley hit 4 and 11 home runs the previous two years.? The speed is decent in the 15-20 SB mold but I reckon Headley will be overdrafted a bit.? Finally Ramirez remains one of the truly best values in the game who is grossly underappreciated.?
Tier 3 (Hanley Ramirez, Pablo Sandoval, Will Middlebrooks, Mike Moustakas, David Freese, Pedro Alvarez. Brett Lawrie)
-Some risk here as Sandoval, as good a hitter as he is, can't seem to stay healthy.? LAwrie meanwhile was a prime bust candidate last season whose power hitting in the PCL never carried over to Toronto.? Now he moves down to fifth or sixth in the lineup which removes some stolen base chances also.? Middlebrooks is a guy I like a lot whose value could be very good after he missed most of the seocnd half of last season with injury when it started to look like he was going to post some big time rookie numbers.? While his high K rate won't allow his average to go beyond .275, Middlebrooks has 25 home run power.? Moustakas carries the post-hype sleeper tag who really was very good the first half of 2012 before he faded over the long season.? Alvarez is a non-starter for me due to the ugly average.? Ramirez meanwhile is best left as a shortstop.?
Tier 4 (Martin Prado, Kyle Seager, Todd Frazier, Kevin Youkilis, Manny Machado)
-Some good sleepers here in Frazier and Machado.? Seager supplies some underrated category juice but we can't get too excited about a Seattle hitter.? Prado is a nice player but most of value falls in average and runs.? Youkilis could be decent if he stays healthy.
Tier 5 (Michael Young, Trevor Plouffe, Lonnie Chisenhall, Chris Nelson, Chris Johnson)
-Stay away from this group if possible.? Lots of garbage options in this batch.
