A marijuana possession charge against Florida cornerback Loucheiz Purifoy has been dismissed due to a lack of evidence, the Gainesville Sun reported Thursday.
On Feb. 6, Purifoy was a passenger in vehicle from which police said they witnessed someone throw a marijuana cigarette out the window. Inside the car, an officer identified a bag containing 2.5 ounces of marijuana near the car?s emergency brake.
?He never had any marijuana on him, therefore he was not guilty of possession of marijuana,? Purifoy?s attorney, Huntley Johnson, told the paper.
Purifoy had been facing a misdemeanor charge.
He collected 51 tackles and three forced fumbles in 2012.
