Junior National Badminton Championship: Poorvisha S. Ram stuns Lakshmi G. in qualifying round clash
Poorvisha S. Ram, a talented young player in India, showed her elevated skills and reserved her place in Women?s Singles U19 main round after winning her qualifying round match against her un-seeded rival Lakshmi G. at 37th Junior National Badminton Championship-2012 on Sunday, November 11, in India.
The higher ranked Poorvisha, who was seeded at number three in Women?s Singles draw in qualifying round, continued her winning streak in the arena as she did not face any trouble in winning the contest in just 15 minutes.
Poorvisha was on a completely different level as she played with tremendous precision on court and managed to end up this qualifying round clash in straight sets with a spectacular total on score board.
On the other hand, Lakshmi could not put up strong show as she remained struggling in all areas of the court. She lacked the finishing touch in her shots and crashed out without winning any game.
In the starting game, the impressive Poorvisha showed a spectacular show as she executed accurate strokes with dictating control from opening points.
The highly elevated skills assisted Poorvisha to keep her lower ranked rival in all sorts of problem in the arena at the starting stage.
Poorvisha stayed in dominating position all the way and set up a convincing lead until the end of opening half of first game.
After the interval, the third seeded Poorvisha remained comfortable on court and pushed her rival in all corners by taking the bird early.
The impressive Poorvisha stayed confident and maintained her superior position all the way to finish up the rallies with a stunning 21-13 score on the board.
In the following set, the un-seeded Lakshmi found herself in rouble again as she received a hostile treatment from Poorvisha who was on a different level. She remained struggling on court and was miles behind her challenger until the break.
After the one-minute interval, the aggressive play of Poorvisha helped her to remain in control and she easily bagged the second set with a one-sided margin of 21-11.
Poorvisha easily stamped her mark over Lakshmi in this qualifying round contest with a completely dominating 21-13 and 21-11 score on the board.
